MUSEUM OF NATIONAL HISTORY AND ARCHEOLOGY located in Constanța is one of Romania’s richest museums and the second biggest institution of it’s kind, with first place being held by
The Museum of National History in Bucharest.
The building block of the museum was first set in the year 1879 by Remus Opreanu in hopes of counteracting the smuggling of antique items discovered in the archeological sites of Constanța.
The musem prides itself with an impressive patrimonium, composed of over 430.000 objects dating as early as the paleolothic era up to the modern greek, byzantine, romanian and medieval era. The musem is situated in Ovidiu Plaza, at nr. 12.
