THE GRAND MOSQUE of Constanța, situated near Ovidiu Plaza, on Crângului Street, nr. 1, is the main edifice of muslim culture in Romania. The largest mosque in the Dobrogea region, it was built by the Romanian Government between 1910-1913, replacing an old mosque called “Mahmudiye”.
The mosque consists of a courtyard and the main building’s structure, dominated by an impressive dome of oriental architecture.
